PLACES TO VISIT/ AROUND THE STAY-
Located just after the Sumoor Samthaling Monastery and just before Panamik Hot Springs, we have to trek/hike for 15 minutes to reach YARAB TSO lake, the views throughout the journey are absolutely stunning, especially the 360* views from the mountain and close to the lake was extraordinary.
Remote 600-year-old Ensa Monastery, just 35km north of Sumur on the west bank of the Nubra, feels like it's close to heaven. The monastery itself is small and home to only one monk, but a lovely kora path takes you past dozens of white chortens and a hermitage retreat to offer fabulous valley views. It's well worth the trip.
This is an old monastery, situated in the middle of the Nubra Valley, on its western side, nearly 150 m above the river, opposite to Panimik. One monk is living there and he likes it to open the small temple for pilgrims and other visitors. It´s fascinating to see very old, some dark paintings on the walls.
